First tagged fish caught for the 2008 Wally III Fishing Contest. 

This Rock Bass sponsored by Lakeside Vision in Prudenville was caught on July 4th by (and you're not going to believe this) Wally Heinrich from Sanford, MI. Wally was fishing with his wife by the weed beds. He did give up and tell us he was using a 4" tube bait that was dark green with glitter. This is one of his favorite baits; he always catches something while using. After such a great weekend they now are coming back next week to try for more.

Now, the second fish has come in! A Blue Gill that was sponsored by The Shirt Factory in Houghton Lake was caught by Dennis Prentis from Sterling Heights on July 17th. All tagged fish are worth a $50.00 gas card and will be entered into the April 2009 drawing for a Grand Prize of $50,000. There are still more fish out there with tags. Sunfish - Perch - A lot of Walleye's - Large Mouth Bass - Small Mouth Bass - Lake trout (Higgins Lake) - Bluegills (Lake St. Helen + Houghton Lake) - Pike - Rock Bass - Crappie
