John L. Sloan

            John L. Sloan sold his first outdoor story in 1959,at the age of 15. He has been writing ever since. He long ago lost count of how many newspaper columns and magazine articles he has written. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a degree in something he can’t even pronounce. Since 1988, he has won over 65 awards for writing and photography on international, national, regional and state levels. He competed in professional rodeo for many years before turning to writing fulltime.

            His specialty is bowhunting for whitetail deer and other big game and he is a much sought after seminar speaker at hunting shows and an after dinner speaker. His unique blend of fact, fiction and humor makes for good listening. He also enjoys fishing for smallmouth bass. He travels extensively and has hunted and fished all over the United States and Canada.            

            He and his wife of 28 years, Jeanne, live in Lebanon, TN. They have two grown children.
